CBD has been EVERYWHERE the last few years! You might have seen it online or in the gas station, heard about it from Jennifer Aniston in US Weekly, or even seen it in your best friend’s car!
It took a me a long time to get on the CBD train because it felt taboo, but it crept into my social media feeds and into a few of my friends lives until I couldn’t ignore it… so I gave it a try.
Here's a look into my experience…
I feel it is at least a solid 90% effective in lengthening my momma fuse when responding to stressful moments (bath time, toddler tantrums, and daycare pickups!) I used to say that could be a placebo effect, but I didn’t care because it seemed to be working! Now, I know it is truly the CBD allowing me to be a more patient momma. I feel relief from my constant state of overwhelm and stress. I can focus on a task without worrying about the millions of others on my ever-growing to-do list as a mom. And that stress reduction allows me to be more present with my kiddos.
When there are million of things swirling in our mom brains, it can be really hard to shut it off and get on the floor to play Barbies or blocks with our kids. But CBD has helped me take back control of my time from the demands of the outside world and focus on the most important people right in front of me.
Before CBD, I found myself resenting daycare pickup. At a time that I should be excited to see my kiddos after so much time apart, I knew I would be met with high emotions that they’ve been holding in all day. And after a full day at work, I often didn’t have the mental capacity to handle it. CBD helps me to calm myself so I can be the mom I want to be- a present, patient, and loving version of myself.
Research continues to stack up regarding the benefits of CBD for people who have anxiety-related disorders, however experts point out that more controlled clinical studies and further research are needed. The same can be said about CBD’s impact on sleep, but my own experience is that CBD helps me to shut off my brain so I can rest.
CBD has been a part of my regular routine for four months now and it has changed my life. I’m less stressed, sleeping better, more focused and I think I’m a better mom because of it. I'm never turning back.
